Joanne Moore, a native of
Birmingham, England,
moved to the United
States to train full-time with
Nick Bolletieri at age 11. She
was, and remains to this day,
the youngest athlete ever to sign with IMG!
After a distinguished junior career
where she was consistently
England’s top player in
the world rankings, Joanne
ventured into the world of WTA
tour professional tennis. It
was on the tour that Joanne
first took notice of Lexington,
as she played in our own Fifth
Third Bank Challenger in both
2000 and 2003. Although Lexington
was one of the smaller
stops on her world tour that included
both the main draws of
Wimbledon & the US Open,
she was drawn to the charm of
the city. In a long career,
Joanne rose as high as 250 in
the world rankings before being
sidelined with recurring injuries.
Joanne has trained with and
competed against the very
best players in the world. The
Lexington Tennis Club extends
to her a very warm welcome
and wishes her the best of
luck in her new position!
The Lexington Tennis Club is
proud to present to our members
this new addition to our
staff. LTC continues to strive
to provide our members with
the finest tennis services available
anywhere.
Add short bursts of cardio throughout a weight lifting routine. The bursts will keep your heart rate elevated throughout your routine boosting your metabolism. Try 1-5 minutes of jump rope, walking on an incline, running, biking, jumping jacks or climbing stairs.
Tennis Tip of the Month
To generate topspin on your serve imagine that the ball were a clock, for a right-hander, the strings would contact the ball at the seven o'clock position and brush up to the one o'clock position. The racquet should be moving upwards and you should try to keep the ball on the strings for as long as you can. The toss should be slightly to your left and behind you.
